INCREASED IMPACT ON HUMANITY
WITH MINIMAL IMPACT ON THE PLANET
Combining green filmmaking innovation, dedication to detail and creative flair - we craft our films with the ingredients to inspire social impact.
We are whole-heartedly driven to creating meaningful and innovative films, whilst minimising our environmental footprints.
In this curious world that we share, the extraordinary is so easily veiled by the ordinary. So much is overlooked - lost in the busy days and relentless routines. A film can unlock those unseen truths, those unheard thoughts, those unasked questions. Each film that is made leaves a wound on the planet. This is the cruel truth that we face with every project.
We do not forget or ignore the footprints that we make; we confront them. Everywhere that we can, we strive to minimise and counteract the marks that we make on the environment. That is why we hold the three pillars of sustainability close at heart in everything we do.
THE ESSENCE OF FILM LIES IN HUMAN INTERACTION
THE ESSENCE OF FILM LIES IN HUMAN INTERACTION
Our films shine a light on the real issues, bringing hidden questions into the public eye and raising the voices of those who might not otherwise be heard. We want to help you tell your story and make your film.
Communication is intrinsic to filmmaking, from the germination of an idea to the budding of impressions in the minds of the audience.
When we make a film with someone, we become a co-creative circle. Throughout our projects we deeply value our relationships with everyone involved, from the people who commission us to the people we film. We wish to project the messages of the diverse and fascinating people that we meet.
WE GO THE EXTRA MILE TO STAY GREEN
WE GO THE EXTRA MILE TO STAY GREEN
With the vision of creating footprint-free films, we designed our filmmaking ecosystem from the ground up to minimise our impact on the environment.
From our use of solar-charged batteries and low-emission vehicles to our ethical disposal of old equipment and waste, we are looking out for the planet in every little detail of our work.
With the help of our green mentor, Caron Johnson from the Eden Project, and our trusty carbon footprint monitor, Albert the green calculator, we are always reviewing and developing our sustainability.
It may seem that our strong ethos ties us down with limitations, but we believe that constraint feeds our creativity. We will never give up on discovering more and more inventive ways to stretch our resources further.
We aspire to become ever greener. Deep in the breath-taking and vibrant landscape of Catalonia, between the pines and the olive trees, we are moving our work and lifestyle off-grid. Sourcing our energy from entirely renewable resources and planting trees to balance out the carbon emissions of our travels, we are designing a carbon-neutral space for imagination, reflection and creativity. For us, this perch among the mountains, streams and trees means a future of infinite opportunities to lift green filmmaking to new levels.
WE STRIVE TO SURPASS LIMITATIONS
WE STRIVE TO SURPASS LIMITATIONS
We are a social enterprise, dedicated to offering cost-efficient filmmaking for everyone. We envision ourselves as a streamlined, waste-conscious organism, carefully balancing resources to get the most that we can out of what we have.
With every new project, we give part of our income to the communities that we are working with or invest it in other projects with less available funding. This enables us to offer a subsidised budget to those who need it, whilst giving our investors the opportunity to enhance their charitable activities and support social ventures.
We immerse ourselves in the transformation of each new project into a fully-fledged film. Each one is alive with boundless potential and it would be a crime to cut one down before it blossoms.
WE WANT TO HEAR YOU;
WE WANT TO MAKE YOU HEARD
WE WANT TO HEAR YOU;
WE WANT TO MAKE YOU HEARD
The more people we talk to, the more hidden gems of the world we unearth. We are always eager to meet new people, hear new stories and embark on new projects. As a team, we are lucky to have a background of first-hand experience working in academia and the third sector, so we understand the hurdles of working in these fields. If you would like to start a project with us, get in touch.
If you are tackling an important issue or helping to change the world for the better, we want to be a part of it.
Together we can catch the eye of the public, tell them your story and show them who you are.
If you have a research project to progress or findings to present, we want to help you reach your audience and take them on the journey of your project.
We are keen to offer our skills in using film to advance research projects and enhance REF and TEF ratings, having won the Research in Film Award for Kanraxël.
A university is a place where the boundaries between silos are blurred and innovative research is unlocked by drawing insights from across disciplines. We feel lucky to be based in the Faber Building at SOAS University of London, submerged in the academic scene of curiosity and discovery, within the very same building where T.S. Eliot once worked.
MORE THAN JUST A FILM
Each of our documentary productions is an educational resource, taken to film festivals, public screenings, community events and academic conferences. They are accompanied by sets of teaching resources and study packs. Not only does this extend the reach of our projects among the general public, but it also enables us to deliver measurable impact.
MORE THAN JUST A PROMOTIONAL VIDEO
Storytelling is at the heart of every film and short video. It can be a powerful force for enacting change and transformation. A story can be instrumental in inspiring people to get involved and act. In a world where social media dominates the plane of communication, it is imperative for organisations to share messages that will be shared. By nature democratic, easy to watch and widely accessible impact videos send out positive messages, celebrating diversity and multiculturalism. As visual tools, they can not only effectively promoted your work but, create a bigger impact and help to raise numbers of followers and initiate new and important discussions with the online community worldwide.
We believe a place of work should be a space of multidisciplinary curiosity and discovery. So, we feel lucky to be based in the Faber Building at SOAS University of London – a place where the boundaries between silos are blurred and innovative research is unlocked by drawing insights from across disciplines. Our studio lies within the unique and inspiring environment of the very same building where T.S. Eliot once worked.
